The book has a click system, whereby it can be opened and extended at any time by inserting new songs and exercises .
In the Fingerstyle Book, initially 16 folk or Travis picking patterns are connected and learned with three fingerstyle techniques, which then make it possible to play every folkpicking piece .
In the following song: ‚All in One‘, all these patterns and techniques are connected with each other with interesting transitions and played . That is then already Finger Style .
Subsequently building upon this, in 20 partly self-developed techniques, like the water drop technique and the pick emulation, every possible movement of the fingers individually to each other and to the thumb is explained and in individual exercises learned and played .
This together now makes it possible to adopt classical, ragtime and picking elements into modern playing styles and to be able to play on an electric guitar or western guitar in any style, without the help of picks or thumb and/or finger picks .
Here, too, all techniques result in a whole piece: ‚Song for Tommy‘, in which all are played and thereby also checked .
With this book and the exercises, it is possible to develop own techniques and playing styles and to dare to play the world’s best fingerstyle pieces .
Another way of anchoring the picking hand enables many interesting playing styles and more possibilities to use all fingers .
In contrast to Mark Knopfler or Tommy Emmanuel, who use the little finger, Erhard anchors with the ball of the thumb on the bridge or the low strings that are not played .
He prefers the resulting clearer and higher-pitched sound and the possibility to use the fourth finger at any time .
Let yourself be inspired by this book and use hereby the possibility to be able to play all fingerstyle pieces in the world .
Have a lot of fun and success with this book .
