Master Fingerstyle Guitar: Learn to Play Like the Pros—Fast and Stress-Free!
Do you dream of mastering the mesmerizing picking techniques of world-class guitarists like Tommy Emmanuel or Estas Tonne?
This practical, hands-on masterclass offers the perfect structured pathway to completely conquer the fascinating world of fingerstyle guitar. The unique concept behind this book: You don’t need to be an expert to sound like one!
Instead of spending years frustratingly fighting your way through highly complex, theoretical pieces, you will learn the core fundamental tools of the trade. Every single exercise is systematically designed so your fretting hand can focus on the simplest basic chords (such as C major, G major, E major, or A minor). Even the feared F major chord is taught using an easy, frustration-free shortcut variant. Because your fretting hand remains completely relaxed, you can channel 100% of your focus into the precision, coordination, and speed of your picking hand!
The Step-by-Step Success Concept:
• The Solid Foundation: You will start by mastering 16 essential folk and Travis-picking patterns combined with 3 core fingerstyle techniques. This instantly unlocks your ability to play any traditional folk-picking song.
• Your First Milestone: In the exclusive performance piece „All in One“, you will weave all gelernt patterns and techniques together with smooth, beautiful transitions. This is your first real „pro-sounding“ milestone!
• The Masterclass: Moving forward, you will dive into 20 elite techniques (including custom-developed concepts like the fascinating Water Drop Technique and highly effective Pick Emulation) for perfect individual finger independence and coordination with the thumb.
• The Grand Finale: The highly impressive concluding piece „Song for Tommy“ unites all 20 advanced techniques into a stunning musical masterpiece, allowing you to showcase and test your brand-new skills.
Why This Book Will Revolutionize Your Playing:
Erhard Brüning shares a powerful secret in this book: an entirely different way of anchoring your picking hand. Unlike Mark Knopfler or Tommy Emmanuel, who rest their pinky finger on the guitar body, you will learn to anchor using the palm of your hand resting on the bridge. The result? A distinctly clearer, brighter tone and the absolute freedom to use your ring finger whenever you want!
Whether you are an ambitious beginner strumming your first camp-fire chords, or an advanced guitarist looking to blend classical, ragtime, and picking elements into modern acoustic or electric guitar styles—this book meets you right where you are.
Let this book inspire you and unlock the tools you need to break down and play any fingerstyle song in the world on your own terms!

Beschreibung

The book has a click system, whereby it can be opened and extended at any time by inserting new songs and exercises .
In the Fingerstyle Book, initially 16 folk or Travis picking patterns are connected and learned with three fingerstyle techniques, which then make it possible to play every folkpicking piece .
In the following song: ‚All in One‘, all these patterns and techniques are connected with each other with interesting transitions and played . That is then already Finger Style .
Subsequently building upon this, in 20 partly self-developed techniques, like the water drop technique and the pick emulation, every possible movement of the fingers individually to each other and to the thumb is explained and in individual exercises learned and played .
This together now makes it possible to adopt classical, ragtime and picking elements into modern playing styles and to be able to play on an electric guitar or western guitar in any style, without the help of picks or thumb and/or finger picks .
Here, too, all techniques result in a whole piece: ‚Song for Tommy‘, in which all are played and thereby also checked .
With this book and the exercises, it is possible to develop own techniques and playing styles and to dare to play the world’s best fingerstyle pieces .
Another way of anchoring the picking hand enables many interesting playing styles and more possibilities to use all fingers .
In contrast to Mark Knopfler or Tommy Emmanuel, who use the little finger, Erhard anchors with the ball of the thumb on the bridge or the low strings that are not played .
He prefers the resulting clearer and higher-pitched sound and the possibility to use the fourth finger at any time .
Let yourself be inspired by this book and use hereby the possibility to be able to play all fingerstyle pieces in the world .
Have a lot of fun and success with this book .
